At 6:01 pm on April 4, 1968 civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was hit by a sniper's bullet. Dr. King was in Memphis to help city sanitation workers-most of whom were black-fight for better pay and working conditions. King had been standing on the balcony in front of  his room at the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee, when, without warning, he was shot. King was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead at 7:05 pm.
Reflections
Greatness means touching people from afar
Power is the ability to move people with ideas
Acceptance is seeing the world for what it is
Courage is seeing the world for what it can be

Visionaries share the path to a brighter day
Legacies are built on that path
So many dreams, so much hope, so much to share
All the different ways great people touch my life

I remember Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

What is King's greatest legacy?
How will you honor his life today?
