Congratulations Bishop Bryant!

The National Press Club honored the presence and presentation of the Senior Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Bishop John R. Bryant with a commemorative cupcake that luncheon attendees received.  In the audience, in spite of it being vacation season, many AME's were present. Bishop Bryant displayed intellectual prowess, social skills and theological insight as he addressed the audience in formal speech. He also answered questions submitted by the audience of lay, clergy, missionaries and the press. In the history of our Zion this will be documented as a singular moment!

2015 Lay Biennial

We are so proud of our own Bishop William P. DeVeaux, Sr who serves as the Chairperson of the Lay Commission. He brought the word for the opening worship service of the 34th Lay Biennial in North Charleston, SC on August 3, 2015. He preached from Acts 15 on the subject "We Need the Best When Serving Jesus." He told the congregation "don't let your personal problem mess up the mission." And we do not need "shake and bake" Christians! After the service the 2nd Episcopal District delegation and special friends gathered for a birthday celebration for Bishop DeVeaux. What a WONDERFUL time we had in the LORD!
