Thursday September 3, 2015 witnessed the promotion of Colonel Raymond Scott Dingle to Brigadier General at ceremonies held at Fort Meyer, VA. General Dingle is a member of New Hope AME Church-Waldorf, MD. Rev. Derrick Brown is his pastor. General Dingle is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and a proud graduate of Morgan State University.
Many friends and family members were in attendance. General Dingle originally had no plans to serve in the armed forces but at the insistence of his father who is an Air Force veteran said, "You're going to West Point."
Despite every effort to get kicked out of ROTC program, he soon became encouraged to continue after discovering that his former football coach, Retired Colonel Forest was a Silver Star war hero in Vietnam. There is no prouder moment than to have a father pin a General Bar and star on his son. What a glorious occasion! To God be the Glory!
