Monday Morning Prayer

Almighty God, creator of the universe, and our heavenly Father and Mother, the One who sustains all that is and promises a future and a hope, hear our prayer for Barack Obama, the president of the United States of America, as he begins a new term of office.

Guide and protect our president and his family as he leads us through challenging days. Give him wisdom and insight to guide our diverse nation. Give him an inclusive vision as he applies the principles upon which our constitution and Bill of Rights rest. Give him a heart for the disheartened and a voice for the powerless.

May you have mercy upon our nation, Congressional leaders, President Obama, Vice-President Biden, our Supreme Court Justices, our State Governors and Legislators, and our many local officials-bless them with a love for what is right, a hatred for what is evil, and the wisdom to know the difference. AMEN.
