Thousands gathered in Indianapolis, IN July 17-21, 2015 for the WMS Quadrennial Convention. Highlights of the meeting included several power sermons. Senior Bishop John R. Bryant pointed out "If you are going to be a missionary worth your salt, then you must be a worshiper." Bishop Vashti McKenzie preached the closing service on the subject "Armed and Dangerous". Bishop Reginald Jackson reminded the convention "If we don't transform lives we're not going to change the world."There was a beautiful tribute in memory of Bishop Sarah Frances Taylor Davis. Our beloved Dr. Pam DeVeaux was honored with four other retiring WMS Supervisors. The meeting also included a presentation from the WMS Foundation of $78,000 raised in a walk-a-thon for aid to overseas districts. Grammy award winning gospel artist Yolanda Adams blessed the convention through a soulful, sanctified concert. What an awesome and blessed Connectional meeting we had. Congratulations to the 2nd Episcopal district's own Dr. Shirley Cason Reed, International WMS President. Thank God for a successful conference and traveling mercies!
