Father's Day-St. James AME
Bishop DeVeaux, Dr. Pam and grand kids Alexis and Jalen traveled to Newark, NJ to worship with Rev. Ronald L. Slaughter, Senior Pastor and congregation at St. James AME. Bishop DeVeaux preached from the subject "Redigging Our Father's Wells" taken from Genesis 26. Bishop reminded us that outsiders have stopped up our wells but we have to redo what predecessors have already done so that wells won't run dry!

Prayer Vigil TODAY
The Second Episcopal District Bishop of the AME Church, William P. DeVeaux Sr., Presiding Elder Ronald E. Braxton and Pastor William H. Lamar IV invite the Washington Metropolitan community to join them for a prayer vigil at Metropolitan AME Church today Friday June 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. The tragedy of the shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC demands that people of faith, civic-minded persons and people who abhor violence come together to pray for the victims and our country. The one hour service will include prayers and music. Metropolitan AME Church is located at 1518 M Street, NW, Washington, DC. The public is invited. 2015 WNCC WIM Mid-Day Refreshing Service
2015 WNNC Men's Night
The evening featured the Allen Chapel Men's Day Choir and the New Jerusalem Choir, St. Paul AME-Lenoir, NC. The night was highlighted with the Men's Night message delivered by Rev. Bryron J. Grayson, Sr. whose text was taken from Exodus 5:6 on the topic of "Making Bricks Without Straw."
The service also included the presentation of Men of the Year certificates. The Honorable Judge A. Leon Stanback (Retired) and Bishop's Award for Business and Professional Service was awarded to Attorney C. Colon Willoughby. CONGRATULATIONS!

2015 WNCC WMS NIGHT IN WHITE
Western North Carolina Conference WMS President presided over the "Capping Ceremony" for 14 new missionaries including 4 young adult missionaries. Bishop DeVeaux installed the newly elected WNCC WMS executive officers for the 2015-2016 conference year. The service concluded with an exciting performance by gospel Grammy-Award winning artist-Vicki Winans. What a blessing!!!

2015 WNCC WMS NOONDAY SERVICE
Western North Carolina Conference President, Nikki Walker Lyons convened the 2015 WNCC WMS Annual Conference meeting which also included the election of the 2015 conference year officers. Second Episcopal District Christian Education Director, Robin Porter Smith served as the noonday speaker. What a blessed occasion! Looking forward to continuing our great WMS work in our local communities and across the Connection!
2015 WNCC WMS AWARDS LUNCHEON
Western North Carolina Conference WMS gave three $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school graduates. President Nikki Walker Lyons also gave recognition awards to outgoing officers who completed their 8-year terms. CONGRATULATIONS!!

WNC Annual Conference-DMC
St. Joseph AME Church in Durham, NC served as the venue for the 2015 Debutante and Masters Commission Service provided by WNCC Commissioner Mrs. Paulette Davis Motley introducing the 2015 Class into society. What a wonderful celebration!
