Friday Food For Thought

This is what the Lord God says. I am about to ignite a fire in you, and it will devour every green tree and every dry tree in you. The blazing flame will not be extinguished, and every face from the south to the north will be scorched by it. ~ Ezekiel 20:47

~Ignite Your Fire~
The most relaxing thing after a long day for me is lighting an aromatherapy candle.  This particular evening I happened to notice the fire from the candle. When I first took the match to light the wick it only gave a small flicker.  A flicker is defined as an unsteady movement, sometimes dim.  After another two attempts the once flicker is now a hot and glowing flame.  If you look even deeper you will see that the flame is almost white near the wick of the candle and red at the end farther away from the wick.

As YWI we are called to serve through mission work.  There may be times when we let life situations distract us from our task at hand. Our work becomes a mere flicker in a world full of needs. During this time our fire is red which could easily be a stop light in our path.  So now a once hot fire is now warm and losing its flare.  When we're at this point we need to recognize that we need spiritual rejuvenation from God.  He is the only one who can light the "match"! His light gives us strength to keep out fire blazing through our bright and dark days.  Our fire is now white signifying new beginnings, flames of completeness.

I encourage you my sisters to ignite your FIRE from within.  Once ignited, we must keep the flame burning by doing two things: studying the word to stay strong spiritually and to build a relationship with God through prayer.

Ignite your fire; keep it burning to blaze the trail for the next generation of willing workers.
